PANCOAST

Pancoast is a professional bass guitarist, songwriter and composer based in Los Angeles. From a very early age, Pancoast knew that he was put on this planet to create music and that his bass was his connection to the universe. Influenced by a spectrum of musicians from Bootsy Collins to Joe Lally, the New Jersey Native fuses groovy soul with experimental rock and a bit of avant-punk, creating his own unique sound and raising the artistry on bass line construction. Throughout his career, Pancoast has maintained a rigorous performing and recording schedule, and has traveled the globe playing alongside large-scale acts including The Killers, Fitz and the Tantrums, Santigold, Third Eye Blind, The Sounds, Capital Cities, Dawes, Louis XIV and Pop Levi. He has also performed on Late Night with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel, as well as at the College Football National Championships and the Winter Olympics. He has cemented his talent on multiple records, and has received song co-writing credit on albums for Julian Casablancas and the Voidz, Vicky Cryer (Muse and The Killers), and Mystic Knights of Amnesia (Jet and The Zutons). Rolling Stone Magazine called his group Low vs Diamond, “one of the best new bands,” and ranked their single “Don’t forget sister” (which he co-wrote) number 58 of the best 100 songs for that year. Pancoast is currently a member of four active bands: Coastal Kites, Tampa, Drunk Old Ladies, and Beat Club 

From hip-hop to experimental rock, Pancoast’s expression has taken many forms over the years, and his varied background has allowed him to continually expand his instrument’s role. His next instrumental EP?, is informed by his many years of experience and collaboration, and demonstrates his uncompromising approach to his art and his alternate way of looking at music. “Pancoast” is the soundtrack to your daily operation, whatever that may be.
